Snippy Slippy shippy

I'm actually adding this to the top of the post....so if it doesn't make sense, thats why.  I GOT CLEARED BY PLASTIC SURGERY!!!!!!!!   I'm so happy cause now I don't have to worry about it. I can listen to my body and do what feels good and not worry about ripping, tearing or moving things that need to stay...though I need to keep doing implant message. I know it sounds fun.  There is my side note

I had a little slip today.  I was doing good until I had to go do something kind of ikky.   Though it wasn't a big slip.  I had to go to whole foods to pick some stuff up.  And I really wanted...three chocolate bars.  But instead I opted for a single serving ben and jerrys.  I'm a huge fan of those mini ice cream cups.  Because it is a chance to get some sweets without being ridiculous.  And you can eat the whole thing.  Double bonus.

I also forgot to mention.  I found peanut butter...woot woot.  They fortunately had some of those little packs at the cafeteria.   So I got a few, and had two on the way back to work.  And two after my trip to whole foods.  I spaced them out because I knew I'd be having a late dinner, and didn't want to get super hungry.  As it is I'm pretty hungry and I have another hour til dinner.  Dang it.   It will taste really good when I have it.

In addition to the ice cream, I had some organic raspberries and a poland spring bubble water...raspberry favor.    I sort of love getting those berry  cartons and then just chowing down.  Its a perfect snack that you can get an any store.

Off to enjoy the end of Dr.  Quinn.  Super jealous.  I think you are.

Waiting

Today is appointment day. So of course I'm sitting in a waiting room craving peanut butter. Thank god mgh had a cafeteria. So I can actually get some before I go back to work for 5 minutes, and then head to my other appointment at Brigham newton corner. To get the long awaited halter monitor results. I have to see the cardiologist and of course I wanted to get in there right away. I mean it's my heart... So yeh. Kind of important. Of course speaking of hearts I'm sitting here having a major adrenaline rush do my pulse is in my ears. Maybe not the best. But what can you do. Hopefully I get out of here soon cause I wanted to stop by the cancer store and see if they had any good summer hats. But I'd rather have the peanut butter so that takes priority.

This is how I feel right now

Good Day

An update on the food action.  Today was a good day.  I managed to stay on track with my food plan.  Which was tough because I almost gave in to the call of the vending machine on the way home from work.  But I stuck strong and had my spicy almonds instead.  I had a scoop of peanut butter when I walked in the door as well. That helped a great deal.

For dinner I had an omelet from IHOP with green pepper, chicken and salsa.  It was good and for the most part satisfied me.  Though I'm hungry again...so I think I'll at least have another chocolate oat fiber one bar.  My little treat until I get the hang of this.  Small and easy to control.  That will be the name of the game.  But really, that is my only slip today...so pretty good. Almost no grains...small amount of sugar.

Day 1 down.

Din Din

I'm determined to cook more good food.  Now that I'm on the other side of recovery I need to get back on the bandwagon for health and fitness.  So I'm slowly going to be titrating down on the carbs and sugar.  I actually read something interesting today at a Biggest Loser Winners blog about how she does treats.  Which I may instigate.  It is soon the beginning of a new month so it seems like a good time to try the once a month treat option.  Lets just say I may have to trek it to mikes pastries, next month if I can get there.

But in addition to trying to cut back on carbs and sugar I am also making an effort to cook more.  So I'm going to document it and make it fun for me.

On today's menu was ground turkey with Brussels spruates (ok I can't spell that word).  With onions, pesto, oregano and garlic.

Roasted asparagus with olive oil, oregano and paprika ( NOT pictured )

Not pictured were steamed green beans and tomato sauce.  I cheated with the steaming... it was one of those frozen steam fresh bags.  But still worked.

I also had a fiber one chocolate and oats bar

Ok So the system isn't perfect yet.  But those are better than a candy bar ;-)

And the best thing about cooking...lunch for tomorrow is 90% done :)
Oh leftovers how do I love thee.
